— HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SKIN BEFORE BRIDAL HENNA APPLICATION —
1.Keep your skin free of oils and fragrances
Avoid applying lotions, creams, or perfumes on your hands and arms for at least 48 hours before your henna appointment. Clean, product-free skin helps the henna stain develop more richly.
2. Smooth, hair-free skin works best
For the most detailed and intricate designs, it’s recommended to wax or shave your hands and arms beforehand. A smooth surface allows the henna to be applied more precisely.
3. Wear comfortable clothing
Bridal henna sessions can take 5–8 hours depending on the size and intricacy of your design. Choose loose, comfortable outfits that won’t restrict movement. If you plan to wear traditional Indian clothing (often sleeveless), bring a light shawl or sweater. Henna paste contains essential oils that naturally cool the body—the more henna is applied, the cooler you may feel.
4. Arrange for a helper
During a long henna session, you may need assistance—whether it’s grabbing snacks or drinks, helping you adjust your seating position, or fetching extra clothing. It’s a good idea to have a trusted “helping hand” nearby, even if they don’t stay the entire time.
